Our Skin Barrier Secrets - healthy skin starts with a strong skin barrier

The human skin is a multi-functional organ that goes beyond being a mere shield against external threats. It is a complex barrier that safeguards the body against the harsh and unpredictable conditions of the outside world. The thin protective layer that constitutes the skin barrier acts as a natural defense system, maintaining the body's hydration and blocking out harmful substances. When this crucial defense mechanism is weakened or damaged, a range of skin issues can arise, it can lead to various skin issues:

Atomic Dermatitis (Eczema)

Contact Dermatitis

Psoriasis

Ichthyosis

Rosacea

Xerosis (Dry Skin)

Allergic Dermatitis

Pruritus (Itchy Skin)

The maintenance of a healthy skin barrier is imperative for the general welfare of one's skin. To tackle concerns related to skin barrier dysfunction, it is recommended to use a superior moisturising cream and to abstain from utilising products containing irritants like fragrances, severe preservatives, and chemicals.

About Us

Why Settle for Ordinary? Discover Our B-Restore™ Formulation Technology

Our unique B-Restore™ formulation technology is developed using three potent natural ingredients: lactobacillus ferment lysate (postbiotics), upcycled bilberry seed, and the Australian native Tasmania pepper berry. It offers a comprehensive solution to restore and strengthen the skin barrier from two different angles, effectively reducing itching and burning sensations.

B-Restore™ is designed to enhance both the microbiological and physical skin barriers, supporting a healthy skin microbiome and promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria. Simultaneously, it provides essential omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to support the formation of ceramides, crucial for skin barrier function.

Bilberry Seed Oil

Vaccinium myrtillus L. (bilberry, also known as wild blueberry) is a medicinal plant rich in anthocyanosides (purple). Bilberry not only contains anthocyanosides (in the skin and pulp), but the seed also contains important compounds, as PUFA (Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids). A recent study underlines that bilberry is an optimal source of α-linolenic acid, the seeds contain a broad range of unsaturated fatty acids and are a great source of essential fatty acids (essential PUFA): omega-3 and omega-6 and of oleic acid.

Tasmanian Pepper Berry

The Tasmanian Pepper Berry (Tasmannia lanceolata) thrives in the mountains of south eastern Australia. It is a hardy species, tolerating cold winter temperatures and surviving on rocky and exposed windy sites. The Tasmanian pepper berry contains a powerful active ingredient called polygodial. It is an anti-inflammatory agent effective to reduce vasodilatation and oedema. Studies have demonstrated that polygodial calms skin discomforts.

Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate

The WHO (World Health Organization)/ FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN) define probiotics as “Live micro-organisms”. Probiotics are good at activating immune and metabolism cells, but the effects of probiotics are small due to skin structure. In addition, it is very challenging to incorporate probiotics into skincare formulations. Thanks to our advanced, patented technology, we have been able to incorporate the unique bio-active substance found in probiotics cells (Lactobacillus Ferment Lysate) into our formulation.
